A 4-1 victory over the No. 18 Georgia Bulldogs on Saturday at the Cone-Kenfield Tennis Center in Chapel Hill earned the 10th-ranked UNC men’s tennis team a spot in the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament for the sixth year in a row.

UNC (20-6) took the doubles point to begin the match, before receiving singles victories from Josh Peck (6-0, 6-1), Brian Cernoch (6-4, 6-3) and Blaine Boyden (6-4, 6-3) to clinch the overall team win.

“We knew we were playing a great program in Georgia, so it’s a great win for us,” UNC head coach Sam Paul said afterwards. “Manny (Diaz, Georgia’s coach) does such an unbelievable job. We’re happy to be moving on – it’s a very, very good win for us.”
