UNC senior attacker Chris Gray and junior defenseman Will Bowen were among 25 players nominated for the men’s Tewaaraton Award on Thursday.

The award is the most prestigious in the sport of lacrosse, and recognizes the top men’s and women’s players in the nation.

Gray has sparked the Tar Heels back among the nation’s elite teams since transferring to Chapel Hill from Boston University prior to last season. The four-time ACC Offensive Player of the Week this season leads the conference with 3.36 goals and 6.18 points per game.

Bowen, meanwhile, leads UNC with 22 turnovers forced. He has also tallied an assist and 28 ground-ball pickups.

The fourth-ranked Tar Heels have gone 9-2 overall in 2021, with a 2-2 record inside the ACC. UNC closes the season with two more conference games against No. 2 Notre Dame and No. 3 Duke.
