Make it three consecutive wins to begin the 2020 season for the No. 8 UNC men’s lacrosse team, which put on a clinic Saturday afternoon at Dorrance Field in a 24-8 blowout victory over Lafayette.
Alex Trippi and Tanner cook each scored four goals, while Chris Gray added three goals and four assists to help the Tar Heels improve to 3-0.
The 24 goals scored were the most the program has had in a single game since scoring 26 in a win over Manhattan back in March of 2015. It was also the 300th home victory in the history of the program.
A total of 16 players tallied at least one goal or one assist in the game, as UNC led 11-6 at halftime before pulling away in the third quarter by outscoring Lafayette 9-1 during that period.
