Kenan Stadium can be a beautiful place to watch college football on a fall Saturday, especially with the way UNC has played throughout the last couple of seasons.
The folks at Sports Illustrated took notice of the home of the Tar Heel football team when ranking the top 25 college football field designs.
SI ranked Kenan Stadium No. 12, citing variety as one of the reasons for slotting UNC so high.
“North Carolina changes its field a lot—and every version looks good. Whether it’s the black and blue design, patriotic design or bright blue end zones like the picture here, the Tar Heels get it right.”
While the Tar Heels and the turf at Kenan Stadium get a rest this weekend as UNC is on bye, the Carolina football home will be back in the spotlight next Saturday when Georgia Tech visits North Carolina.
