The UNC tailback duo of junior Javonte Williams and senior Michael Carter were each selected earlier this week to the watch list for the Doak Walker Award–which goes to the nation’s top college running back.
Williams broke out last season as a sophomore by rushing for 933 yards and five touchdowns, while Carter led the team with 1,003 rushing yards and ranked fourth in the ACC with 124.8 all-purpose yards per game.
This also marks the third consecutive season that Carter has been included on the Doak Walker Award watch list.
The winner of this year’s award will be revealed in December at ESPN’s College Football Awards show.
