
With a hard swing on a 3-1 pitch count, UNC baseball star Vance Honeycutt made yet another highlight reel moment for himself on Friday night.
The junior centerfielder launched a walk-off home run over the left field fence to lead the Diamond Heels to beat West Virginia 8-6 in the opening game of Carolina’s NCAA Super Regional round — and with it, UNC fans erupted online in celebration.

The drama does not end here for Carolina. The Diamond Heels will face West Virginia again on Saturday, with a chance to punch their ticket to the College World Series if they win. First pitch at Boshamer Stadium is set for 8 p.m.
