Class of 2021 quarterback prospect Drake Maye–a four-star recruit who is the son of former UNC quarterback Mark Maye and the younger brother of former Tar Heel basketball star Luke Maye–verbally committed on Wednesday to play his college football at Alabama.

Maye chose the Crimson Tide over UNC, Clemson, Georgia, Louisville and Maryland. According to 24/7 Sports, he is the No. 107 overall recruit in the country regardless of position.

Standing at 6-foot-4 and weighing 200 pounds as a high school junior last season for Myers Park in Charlotte, Maye threw for 3,201 yards and 36 touchdowns while throwing just five interceptions.

Myers Park posted a 13-2 record in 2018, and should compete among the top teams in the state this season with Maye leading the way.
