A total of eleven UNC field hockey players were selected Tuesday to the Zag Field Hockey/NFHCA Division I National Academic Squad for 2019, an honor which requires student-athletes to have a cumulative grade point average of 3.3 or higher.

The Tar Heels are fresh off completing their second straight undefeated season and winning a second consecutive NCAA title.

Feline Guenther, Catherine Hayden, Megan Ragusa, Meredith Sholder and Cassie Sumfest were each named to the National Academic Squad for the third time in their careers, while Abby Pitcairn earned her second honor.

Also on the list representing UNC were: Brooke Behan, Marissa Creatore, Karlijn Goes, Yentl Leemans and Mimi Leonard.
