UNC junior linebacker Chazz Surratt–the runner-up for the 2019 ACC Defensive Player of the Year award–announced via Instagram on Monday that he will return to school to play out his senior season in 2020.

This past season, Surratt was in his first year playing linebacker after making the transition from quarterback. He was a First Team All-ACC selection after leading the Tar Heels with 110 tackles, 13.5 tackles for loss and six sacks in 2019.

Surratt also got his lone interception of the season in UNC’s win over Duke, a pick at the goal line in the final seconds that ultimately gave the Tar Heels the victory.
