The UNC men’s lacrosse team released its 2024 regular season schedule on Tuesday. The Tar Heels are looking to return to the NCAA Tournament this year after missing out the previous two seasons.

Carolina will open the season with two neutral-site games. The Tar Heels will visit Atlanta to face Mercer on February 10, then travel up to North Bethesda, MD to face Fairfield on February 17. The home opener is scheduled for February 24, when Johns Hopkins visits Dorrance Field. A start time has yet to be announced.

UNC will host Princeton and Penn in Chapel Hill on March 1 and 3 before embarking on a three-game road trip to New York, featuring visits to Hofstra, Wagner and Stony Brook. Carolina returns home with games against High Point and Army on March 23 and 30 before visiting Virginia for the ACC opener on April 6.

The Tar Heels host Syracuse on April 13 before visiting defending national champions Notre Dame in South Bend on April 20. UNC will celebrate Senior Day on April 27 when Duke visits Dorrance Field. The ACC Tournament will begin May 3 in Charlotte.

UNC is ranked No. 19 in USA Lacrosse’s preseason poll. The ACC has several representatives elsewhere in the poll, with No. 1 Notre Dame, No. 2 Duke, No. 3 Virginia and No. 9 Syracuse. For a full look at the poll, click here.

On the women’s side, the Tar Heels are ranked No. 3 in USA Lacrosse’s Preseason Top 20 poll. Carolina sits behind defending national champion Northwestern at No. 1 and defending national runners-up Boston College at No. 2. Denver, which defeated UNC in last season’s national quarterfinals, sits at No. 4, and Syracuse sits at No. 5. Other ACC teams in the poll include Notre Dame at No. 7 and Virginia at No. 20.
