
The UNC men’s basketball team will take the court in an official capacity for the first time Friday night, when they face Elizabeth City State in an exhibition game at the Dean Smith Center. It will also be the first game featuring Hubert Davis as the team’s head coach, though it will not count toward his official record at Carolina. The Tar Heels are ranked No. 19 in the preseason Associated Press poll.
If you can’t make it to the Smith Center for the game, here’s how you can follow along at home:
Broadcast Schedule
Those hoping to listen on the radio can do so at 97.9 FM and 1360 AM, or by streaming the radio broadcast on Chapelboro.com.
97.9 the Hill’s radio coverage of the game will begin at 6 p.m. with Countdown to Tip-Off With Brighton McConnell.
At 6:30 p.m., the broadcast will shift over to Jones Angell and the Tar Heel Sports Network for their pregame coverage until tip-off. They will also carry postgame coverage for approximately an hour after the conclusion of the game.
All of these broadcasts will be available live on the radio or by streaming on Chapelboro.com.
TV Schedule
The game will not be broadcast on cable television, but is available on ACC Network Extra. The game starts at 7:30 p.m.
What if I don’t have cable?
ACC Network Extra is available exclusively through the ESPN app, if you subscribe to a provider which carries ACC Network. Several cord-cutting options carry the ESPN family and ACC Network.
YouTube TV prices at $65/month and carries all of ESPN’s channels (ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU, etc.) as well as the ACC Network.
Hulu TV also goes for $65/month and includes all ESPN channels, but does not carry MLB Network, NBA TV or NFL Red Zone.
Sling TV is the cheapest at $46/month for the Orange + Sports Extra package. Make sure to avoid Sling Blue, as that package does not carry ESPN.
