The second annual edition of “Live Action with Carolina Basketball” is scheduled for Friday, October 13 in the Dean Smith Center.
Admission to the event is free to the public, with doors at the Smith Center opening at 5:30 p.m. The event, which features both the men’s and women’s basketball teams, will begin at 7 p.m. Students should enter the building at Gate C, while the general public should use Gates A and B. Concessions will be available inside the arena.
“Live Action” is a reimagining of the annual UNC basketball preseason celebration under head coaches Hubert Davis and Courtney Banghart. Davis is entering his third season with the men’s program, while Banghart is entering her fifth with the women’s program. Last year’s event featured a three-point shooting contest with players from the men’s and women’s teams and brief scrimmages.
The women’s basketball team’s season will officially begin on November 8 against Gardner-Webb in Carmichael Arena. The men’s team’s season is set to begin on October 27 with an exhibition against St. Augustine’s in the Smith Center. The regular season begins on November 6 at home against Radford.
