East Chapel Hill High School announced Friday morning that it has hired Brian Nunn to be its new head football coach.

Nunn arrives in the area from Covington, Georgia, where he was a wide receivers coach and also the head coach of the JV team. He also has experience, however, as an offensive coordinator, defensive coordinator and defensive line coach.

Before his time coaching high school, Nunn–who played the sport in college at Virginia State University–also spent 10 years as a head coach at the middle school level.

In addition to his coaching duties, he will also serve East Chapel Hill as an exceptional education teacher.

“Coach Nunn brings excitement and experience to our program,” Athletic Director Randy Trumbower said, in a statement released by the school. “He will be a great teacher and mentor for our student-athletes.”
