Running back Elijah Green and quarterback Conner Harrell of the UNC football team are leading their school’s Chapter of Uplifting Athletes in its first ever Lift for Life on June 30. The fundraising event will help support the rare disease community. Fans can pledge money for each yard covered during a sled push workout.

“Having Lift for Life at UNC for the first time is special to me because of what it means to the players and the community.” said Green, a rising junior for the Tar Heels. “The topic of rare disease hits close to home because rare disease has impacted our team. So, having the opportunity to use my skills and platform to make a difference means the world to me and the team.”

Green and Harrell formed the chapter at UNC to show support for teammate Tylee Craft, who has been battling a rare form of cancer since the spring of 2022. The Carolina chapter is part of a network of universities across the country which are “using their platform to inspire and invest in the rare disease community through the power of sport,” according to a release.

The chapter has set a fundraising goal of $4,000. Those who are interested can make a pledge or a flat donation by clicking here.
