97.9 The Hill WCHL’s Andrew Stuckey, Brighton McConnell and Michael Koh and a host of special guests previewed the 2025-26 UNC men’s basketball season Friday ahead of the Tar Heels’ preseason exhibition game vs. No. 8 BYU. Topics discussed include Carolina’s roster overhaul during the offseason as well as a challenging non-conference schedule, and Stuckey, McConnell and Koh also gave predictions for how the team would fare in the ACC this season. In addition, Stuckey and Koh previewed the matchup with BYU, which is coming off a Sweet 16 appearance in the 2025 NCAA Tournament and features a star-studded roster.

Head coach Hubert Davis is entering his fifth season in charge in Chapel Hill. The Tar Heels are led by senior guard Seth Trimble and welcome in a host of newcomers, including five-star freshman Caleb Wilson and Alabama transfer (and Chapel Hill native) Jarin Stevenson. Friday’s exhibition against BYU in Salt Lake City is one of two preseason games for UNC, which will host Winston-Salem State at the Dean Smith Center on Wednesday, October 29.
