Isaiah Denis, who is rated as the No. 47 player in his class and a four-star recruit by 247 Sports, announced his commitment to head coach Hubert Davis and the UNC men’s basketball program on Saturday afternoon.

Denis, a 6-foot-5 combo guard from Davidson, N.C., chose the Tar Heels over several other finalists, including Tennessee, Wake Forest, Miami and Ohio State.

“Denis is a skilled scoring guard who plays off the threat of his jumper first and foremost,” writes Adam Finkelberg, director of scouting for 247 Sports. “He has speed and quickness with the ball in his hands, plenty of handle, and some crafty finishing ability at the rim.”

Denis won a North Carolina Independent Schools Athletic Association state title with Davidson Day School this past winter, scoring 18 points in the championship game. While playing on the Nike Elite Youth Basketball League circuit during the spring and summer, Denis averaged 14.2 points and 2.4 assists per game while shooting 36 percent on three-pointers.

Denis is the second member of the recruiting class of 2025 to commit to Carolina. Derek Dixon, another four-star guard, committed to the Tar Heels in September.
