Welcome to the Small Surprise Spotlight, presented by Alamance County Visitors Bureau. We’re uncovering hidden gems in Alamance County that might be closer than you think!
This month’s feature is the 34th Annual Dogwood Festival, organized by the Mebane Business Association, and taking place this weekend in Downtown Mebane! The President of the Mebane Business Association, Jessica Nilles, recently joined Brighton McConnell to discuss the exciting events taking place throughout the weekend.
The weekend kicks off with a golf tournament beginning Friday morning, and the day ends with a 5K and kid’s Fun Run dash. Also available on Friday evening are carnival rides, food and music from the Mason Lovette Band.
On Saturday, there will be over 150 vendors “selling crafts and homemade items you can’t find anywhere else.” There is a Car Show, a brand new Beer Garden, delicious food, and tons of family-friendly fun! The music on Saturday will be provided by The Castaways Band, and downtown businesses will be open to shop and dine.
No pets permitted, with the exception of service dogs. Parking is free in Downtown Mebane.
