In this edition of Nonprofit Spotlight, join Trinsic Residential Group in recognizing the work of the Community Home Trust, an organization that sold its first home in 2000 and has been working to preserve and provide affordable housing in our community ever since.
“Community Home Trust seeks to strengthen our community here in Orange County with permanently affordable home ownership and rental opportunities,” said Kimberly Sanchez, executive director of Community Home Trust. “Our homeowners and tenants include nurses, university employees, teachers and other frontline workers who serve our community but otherwise could not afford to own or rent a home here.”
According to Sanchez, CMT current has 332 permanently affordable homes in Chapel Hill and Carrboro — housing that is offered in addition to educational opportunities and along with the promise of a “99-year affordability guarantee” that provides additional support and stability for local families.
