Welcome back to Glowing Review, a monthly column made possible by RosieGlow Skin Studio, where we discover new and unique ways to relax, unwind, and take care of ourselves. We’ve covered microdermabrasion, floatation therapy, Botox, and more.

This month, I don’t have anywhere specific to send you for treatment; Instead, I want to chat about something very important: The Perfect Pedicure. In previous Glowing Review conversations, I may have been sharing my experience with something you haven’t tried yet. Most people reading this will have had a pedicure – so I specifically want to zero in on what makes a pedicure perfect.

My personal opinion is that the key to a perfect massage is a relaxing pedicure. Most of the time I even pay extra for a longer massage. I recently asked my friends on Instagram to share what they look for when getting a pedicure and while most responses included something about a message, I was surprised by these answers:

“Having friends there with good conversations” | “Wine & a friend sat right next to you”

“A soothing playlist” | “A glass of wine in my hand” | “A gal pal” | “The perfect color polish”

“Someone to share it with” | “A glass of wine & a sugar scrub” | “Making my feet softer”

Okay, the wine part wasn’t that surprising. But I was surprised to learn how many responses mentioned getting a pedicure with a friend! I tend to find a pedicure relaxing because it’s an hour or so to myself. (That also means there isn’t anyone there to judge me for paying more for a longer massage.) I love hearing that even though it becomes a social outing, getting a pedicure with a friend makes for a perfect pedicure experience.

Also surprising was that out of about 20 replies on Instagram, only one of them mentioned actually improving the state of their feet – the whole point of a pedicure.

The information that I took away from reading the replies & assessing my own experience is that another aspect of self-care seems to come down to one thing: making it our own. When I began discussing Glowing Review with Jenny, the fabulous owner of RosieGlow Skin Studio, this was basically the message that we wanted to send to anyone who read it. As long as you’re making the time to be intentional in how you care for yourself, you’re doing it right!

Be sure to check out RosieGlow Skin Studio’s current offer – the Pumpkin Honey Fall Facial. I’ll see you next month for a new Glowing Review. Take care of yourselves until then!
