CEO of UNC Health Care Dr. William Roper was named to Modern Healthcare’s annual list of 100 Most Influential People in Health Care.

Roper, who also serves as dean of the UNC School of Medicine and vice chancellor for medical affairs at UNC, has been included on the list six times.

The top slot on this year’s list was awarded to Republican Senators Susan Collins of Maine, Lisa Murkowski of Alaska and John McCain of Arizona, who each voted against their party’s bill to repeal the Affordable Care Act.

Dr. Roper was previously director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, served on the senior White House staff and was administrator of the Health Care Financing Administration.
