UNC celebrated its spring Class of 2021 with an in-person commencement ceremony at Kenan Stadium on Friday, May 14 — the first time the university has been able to celebrate its graduates in person since 2019.

Dr. Fauci was awful as a speaker. So sad he was involved in what was otherwise a very nice ceremony,
I couldn’t help but notice that there is not a single Black student visible among the photos shown of the graduates in your gallery, nor are any there any Black families in attendance among those pictured. Yet there are TWO photos in your gallery of the same blond, blue-eyed graduate. Although a photo of a Black commencement speaker is shown, the rest of the photos would leave the impression that the student body is mostly white women. I realize that white women are likely the largest single demographic among UNC’s graduates, but the photos you chose to display (or those taken) do not portray UNC as “…the University of the people” as the Kuralt quote you cited suggests. I’m disappointed in your coverage.
