The UNC Adams School of Dentistry will provide free dental care during its seventh annual on-site Give Kids A Smile benefit on Friday, Feb. 7.
Give Kids a Smile Day is a national program organized by the American Dental Association to provide free care and health education to children across the country. Nationwide, the program will provide dental care to nearly 300,000 children.
Since the program launched in 2003, more than six million children have received free oral health services by more than half a million volunteers. UNC’s event will be just one of the 1,403 events being held in 2020.
Appointments are available between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. for members of the community. Children ages 2 through 18 are eligible for free treatment including dental exams, x-rays, cleanings, extractions, sealants, fluoride, fillings and crowns.
The event will also feature a health fair with the UNC-CH Schools of Medicine, Nursing, Eshelman School of Pharmacy, Gillings School of Global Public Health, and UNC Athletics.
The dental school asks that children are accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times. If interested in an appointment, please call (919) 726-8057.
