Crews worked to clear the roadways and bring traffic back to its normal pace after the 13′ 6″ truck had clipped the power lines and brought them down across the entire four-lane roadway near Stateside Drive.

The truck driver and officials with the Chapel Hill Police Department say the trucks have used MLK dozens of times over the past few days with no incidents.

QVC is setting up to film a live broadcast from Chapel Hill on Wednesday.

Power Line

Chapel Hill Police said it was too early Monday afternoon to know if charges would be brought on anyone.

Debris from the power line struck a passing vehicle.

No injuries were reported in the accident.

Three of the four lanes on MLK are open as of Monday afternoon.
