****UPDATE: OWASA officials said just before 4:30 p.m. that the boil water advisory for the area had been lifted. There are 75 customers who have been directly contacted, according to the utility, who will have to continue under a boil water advisory, but the rest of the service area is working at a normal capacity.****

Storage tanks at Orange Water and Sewer Authority are back to normal levels and customers in southern Orange County can resume using water at normal levels. But a boil water advisory remains in effect.

The utility announced the developments Tuesday morning after a significant water main break caused issues throughout the day Monday.

Crews were able to stop the leak late Monday and are working to repair the pipe at the OWASA facility on Jones Ferry Road.

OWASA is testing water samples “as a precaution,” according to a release, to “confirm the drinking water remains safe.” Those results are expected this evening.

The OWASA administrative office is open and being used as a polling location for Election Day without interruptions. Voters whose precinct is at the facility on Jones Ferry Road should access the location via Highway 54.
