The Chapel Hill Police Department is investigating a motor vehicle collision that occurred on Banks Drive Sunday afternoon.
In a release from the Town of Chapel Hill, police said one pedestrian was struck while crossing the road between the Food Lion grocery store and Regal Timberlyne movie theater around 3:45 p.m.
Authorities said the pedestrian sustained evident injuries from the collision and was transported to the UNC Hospitals Emergency Room.
