A top-ranked pre-school is opening a new location in Chapel Hill next week, and parents are invited to bring their kids on Saturday to a celebration of the grand opening.
The Goddard School’s newest location is at 1162 Martin Luther King Boulevard. On May 3 from 10 a.m. until noon, parents and kids will be offered the opportunity to meet with teachers and tour the school.
“All our families from the community are invited,” says Seema Naik, the primary onsite owner of the Chapel Hill franchise.
“We have a lot of refreshments,” says Naik. “We’ll have family-friendly activities. For example, we’re going to have face painting.”
Kids will also be able to enjoy some music and dancing, as well as a magician making balloon animals.
The Durham franchise of Goddard has been open for about three-and-a-half years. The Chapel Hill franchise has actually been open for about a month. Owned by Goddard Systems Incorporated, the franchises operate on a dual-management system.
“Our center is not a daycare, it’s a pre-school, as we have a learning component to our curriculum” says Naik. “Our teachers write our own curriculum, which are being reviewed and approved by our educational director.”
The main goal, she says, is to instill a love of learning in kids through the school’s Fun Learning Experience curriculum.
The school accepts children from six weeks to six years old.
Naik says that all families who show up and sign up on Saturday will receive 50 percent off the first month’s tuition.
Entrepreneur magazine has ranked Goddard as the number one childcare franchise in the nation for 13 years running.
