The Orange County Local Reentry Council, in partnership with the towns of Carrboro, Chapel Hill and Hillsborough, will host a free online panel this week to discuss topics at the forefront of national conversations.

The county announced it will host the Hearing Impacted Voices virtual discussion about inequality, policing and injustice on Thursday, June 25, from 12:30 p.m. to 2 p.m.

The panel will consist of Tommy Green and William Elmore of the N.C. Peer Support Specialists, as well as criminal justice staff attorney Whitley Carpenter. Thursday’s discussion will be moderated by James E. Williams, an attorney and Chair of the N.C. Commission on Racial & Ethnic Disparities in the Criminal Justice System.

Community member interested in viewing the Local Reentry Council’s panel are required to register for the event as a Zoom webinar.
