The life of longtime activist and teacher Vivian Connell will be celebrated on Saturday.
Connell died last month at the age of 52 from ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease.
Family members say the celebration will be held at United Church of Chapel Hill beginning at one o’clock Saturday afternoon.
The family will receive friends and visitors at Tandem restaurant in Carrboro after the ceremony from three o’clock until five o’clock Saturday evening.
Connell is survived by her husband Paul and two children.
