A portion of the Riverwalk’s western section will be closed this week as crews will be clearing a water line right-of-way.

A release says crews with the Town of Hillsborough will clear 10 feet on either side of a 16-inch water line that is located near Faribault Lane and the bridge over the Eno River by Gold Park.

Barricades will be put in place around 7:30 on Tuesday morning when the work is beginning. Work is expected to be finished by the end of the day on Tuesday.

Officials ask that citizens heed trail closure signs and barricades for the safety of both residents and crews that are working.

The area that is cleared will be seeded for grass and covered with straw, according to a release, and the right-of-way will be mowed twice a year to ensure access to the water line.
