Shoppers at some of the Harris Teeter locations in the community may have noticed new signs around the entrances about new hours coming soon.

The grocery store chain will be changing from the 24-hour model. While many locations already made the switch in the last year, the remaining 24-hour Harris Teeters will move to a new system beginning Wednesday, March 4. The hours will now be from 6 a.m. to midnight.

New hours are coming for the remaining 24-hour Harris Teeter locations, including the one in University Place.

This upcoming change will affect two Harris Teeter locations in Orange County that still run all-day. The store in University Place Mall off South Estes Drive in Chapel Hill and the store in Carr Mill Mall in Carrboro will see their hours altered.

According to the News & Observer, the change is not leading to any cuts of store associates or staff. A spokesperson for the grocery chain, which is headquartered in Matthews, said the decision was made to fit other grocers’ hours.

There are seven other 24-hour Harris Teeters in the Triangle region whose hours will be affected.
