The Orange County Department of Social Services and Orange County NC Works Career Center will host its first “Drive-Though” Career Expo this week.
The Skills Trade Industry “Drive-Through” Career Expo will be held on Wednesday, November 18 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
This event is open to the public and is for job seekers interested in careers in skills trades. There will be approximately five to ten employers with a variety of positions within the Skills Trade Industry. Listed are open positions that employers will be hiring for at this event: Pro Desk Associate, Building Materials Associate, Paint Associate, General Laborer, Journeyman Carpenter, Plumber, Building Management and Facilities Maintenance.
According to the county, job seekers will be required to stay in their vehicles while participating in this event and practice the state and local government’s guidelines for social and physical distancing.
Orange County’s Department of Social Services encourages job seekers to “print their resume, dress for success and prepare to make a positive impression on employers.”
Participants are encouraged to register in NC Works ahead of the career expo. Employers participating in this event will also be registered in NC Works and will be able to connect with participants through the site at the conclusion of the event.
This Skills Trade Industry Career Expo will be located in the parking lot of 113 Mayo Street in Hillsborough. Additional directional markers will be provided to help indicate where participants should go.
