This series of posts will be made weekly on Chapelboro to help inform our community about local government meetings. All meeting days, locations and times may be subject to change. Check town, county, and school district websites for additional information.
This week is a light one on the local government calendar, because most elected boards have the week off. Between Orange, Durham, and Chatham Counties, there are only three board meetings, all on the same day:
Orange County Commissioners meet Thursday, November 2, at 7 p.m. in the Whitted Building in Hillsborough. Board members will receive an update from the Orange County Partnership to End Homelessness and get the final report of the Orange County Climate Action Plan and Greenhouse Gas Inventory. The Chapel Hill-Carrboro City Schools board is holding a work session Thursday, November 2, at 6 p.m. in Lincoln Center. Agenda items include an update on the ongoing assessment of facility conditions and the continuation of a conversation on updating district policy in accordance with the newly-passed Parents Bill of Rights (Senate Bill 49). And the Durham school board also meets on Thursday, November 2, starting at 5:30 p.m. Their agenda has not yet been posted, but will be available at this link.
