It’s the last week of the month, which means no meeting for several local boards. But there’s still a lot of activity on the week’s agendas – including the Bolin Creek Greenway in Carrboro, “system development fees” in Pittsboro, and this year’s State of the County address in Durham.

Here’s a rundown of local government meetings this week in Durham, Orange, and Chatham Counties.

Orange County

The Hillsborough Board of Commissioners is holding a work session at 7 p.m. on Monday, March 27. Town board members will discuss annexation of the Gatewood Property and review priority transportation projects. Click here to view the full agenda.

The Carrboro Town Council meets at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, March 28. Council members will continue discussing plans for phases 3 and 4 of the Bolin Creek Greenway; they’ll follow up on their recent council retreat; and they’ll consider approving a contract to install solar panels on town buildings including the 203 Project. And the Chapel Hill-Carrboro City School Board will be discussing top priorities for the General Assembly at its annual Legislative Breakfast on Friday, March 31, from 8:30-9:30 a.m. in the Lincoln Center. Click here for a link to the agenda, which will be posted later in the week.

Chatham and Durham Counties

The Pittsboro Board of Commissioners meets twice this week. First, the board will host its regular meeting at 7 p.m. on Monday, March 27 – featuring a public hearing to get feedback on a “system development fee,” a possible way to recoup from developers the cost of providing town services to new developments. Then the board will hold a work session on the system development fee on Tuesday, March 27, at 6 p.m. Click here for links to both agendas.

Finally, Durham County Commissioners meet at 7 p.m. on Monday, March 27. Chair Brenda Howerton will deliver the annual State of the County address. Click here for a link to the agenda.
