Most local government boards are winding down their work for the fall, but there are still several key items on this week’s agendas – particularly for Orange County Commissioners, who will consider an incentives package for an economic development proposal that was large enough to merit a statement from the governor’s office. In addition, newly elected board members will take their oaths of office in Hillsborough and Pittsboro, and the Orange County school board will consider spot redistricting for the upcoming year.
Here’s a rundown of local government meetings this week in Durham, Orange, and Chatham Counties.
Orange County
The Hillsborough Board of Commissioners meets at 7 p.m. Monday, December 8. Newly re-elected board members will take their oaths of office and the board will select a Mayor Pro Tempore and decide on committee appointments for the coming year; then the board will receive the results of an audit from the previous fiscal year.
