This week in local government, Orange County Commissioners will gather together with the Chapel Hill-Carrboro and Orange County school boards, for a wide-ranging discussion of next year’s budget, an upcoming bond referendum, and school safety. In addition, the Chapel Hill and Carrboro town councils will both discuss affordable housing and potential updates to their respective land use ordinances – and in Hillsborough, new mayor Mark Bell will deliver his first-ever State of the Town address.

Here’s a rundown of local government meetings this week in Durham, Orange, and Chatham Counties.
