Chatham County Sheriff Mike Roberson has been elected president of the North Carolina Sheriffs’ Association, the organization announced this week. The NCSA held the election during its annual business conference.

“I am truly honored to have been elected by my peers to serve as President of the Association,” Roberson said. “It’s a privilege to represent and support my fellow sheriffs in the coming year. The Association’s Annual Business Conference is a valuable opportunity for us to come together, share our experiences, and learn from each other. Through our collaborative efforts, we are committed to continually enhancing the service we provide to our communities.”

Roberson had previously served as the association’s first vice president from July 2023 through July 2024. Roberson was second vice president in the 2022-23 year, during which time Orange County Sheriff Charles Blackwood served as president. Blackwood was the association’s chairman during the past year but will not serve in an executive role moving forward.
