UNC Children’s in Chapel Hill received accolades Tuesday morning as one of the “Best Children’s Hospitals” in the nation.

Additionally, the pediatric hospital saw its neonatology, orthopedics, cancer, urology and nephrology specialties ranked as well.

U.S. News ranked only 90 children’s hospitals in the national in at least one of the 10 pediatric specialties.

UNC Children’s also tied for 2nd for best children’s hospital in North Carolina and tied for 5th for the Southeast region overall. Duke Children’s in Durham holds the top spot in the state.

“The work our teams have done over the past several years, and in particular during the pandemic, is nothing short of remarkable,” Dr. Stephanie Duggins Davis, Physician-in-Chief for UNC Children’s said in a release. “We are simultaneously humbled and extremely proud of this recognition as UNC Children’s is nationally ranked across eight pediatric specialties,” she continued.”

This is the 14th year in a row that UNC Children’s has made U.S. News’ list.
