A vehicle fire near a busy Chapel Hill road caused a quick response from emergency vehicles Tuesday morning.

The Chapel Hill Fire Department was alerted to the fire shortly after 8:15 a.m., with emergency responders arriving to find flames coming from a vehicle parked outside a mobile home on Westminster Drive, which is off Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard. According to a release from the Town of Chapel Hill, one resident of the home was helped outdoors during the fire and no injuries were reported.

From there, Chapel Hill firefighters successfully put the flames out. The burning vehicle did damage the exterior of the residence, according to the release, but caused only minimal damage to the interior. The town government said fire investigators are beginning to examine what may have caused the fire.

While responding the incident, Chapel Hill Fire and other emergency vehicles closed down Westminster Drive between Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and Banks Drive. The road was reopened shortly before 10 a.m.
