The Town of Carrboro broke ground on the new Rogers Road sidewalk late last month.

The project includes the installation of a more convenient pedestrian route, a new bus pad and shelter and a connection for residents of the Rogers Road-Eubanks neighborhood.

This project is an outcome of the “New Horizons” task force, which was created in 2005 after the annexation of the Rogers Road area to serve the residents of the neighborhood.

The project has a budget of $1.37 million and will consist of a 5′-wide sidewalk that will run from the west side of Rogers Road to Meadow Run Court.

Construction will begin this fall.
