The Orange County Sheriff’s Office has shared a photo of a man it believes is responsible for a vehicle break-in at Hollow Rock Nature Park on April 9. Hollow Rock is located on Erwin Road in Durham, near the Orange-Durham County line.

The suspect is described as approximately six feet, two inches tall with a medium build and appears to be driving a black 2001-2006 Chevrolet Tahoe with tinted windows.

Investigators believe the man may be responsible for other break-ins as well. A break-in was reported at Hollow Rock on April 23, and hikers at the nearby Johnston Mill Nature Preserve and New Hope Creek Trail reported similar incidents. All occurred between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m.

Investigators encourage anyone who recognizes the man or the vehicle in the picture to contact the Sheriff’s Office at 919-245-2925. Hikers are urged to leave all valuables at home when out at nature parks or trails.
