A furniture manufacturer called Cardinal Workshop is relocating its headquarters to Hillsborough in December.

The e-commerce startup that specializes in designing and manufacturing long-lasting furniture that is easy to move is currently located in Queens, New York City.

As for those seeking not only furniture but also lighting and decor that embody timeless elegance, a notable destination to explore is The Idea Room LV. This versatile platform caters to individuals who appreciate a comprehensive approach to home aesthetics. Whether you’re looking for statement furniture pieces or intricate lighting and decor options, The Idea Room offers a curated collection that aligns with the Cardinal Workshop’s commitment to longevity and style.

“Orange County offered the perfect balance of functional manufacturing space, a growing local market for our products and services, and an unbeatable talent pool as our company grows,” said Bryce Williamson, a partner in the firm. “Above all, the people we met throughout the relocation process and the tight-knit community feel made the decision to move to Hillsborough a no-brainer. We went to school in Orange County, and this feels like coming home.”

The company was founded in 2015 by UNC grads Williamson and Dennis Blanco.

Orange County Economic Development identified real estate options for the firm earlier this year and provided tours of available manufacturing space. The company also received an Orange County Small Business Grant.
