A new ABC store has opened in Chapel Hill.
Suite 122 at 300 Market Street in Southern Village saw the new liquor store open its doors on Thursday, October 6. The 3,420 square-foot space was previously a combination of three suites that included office space and a Pilates studio.
Representatives for Pickett Sprouse Commercial Real Estate, who brokered the deal for the Orange County ABC Board, said in a release that the county alcohol board had aimed to open a location in Southern Village for a while.

“We all agreed that the new ABC store would energize that block of retail in Southern Village while also offering high visibility for the new look and feel of the Orange County ABC brand,” said Emilee Collins with the Durham-based real estate agency.
With the new Southern Village location, the Orange County ABC Board now has nine stores across the county. The three other stores in Chapel Hill are in the Meadowmont community off NC Highway 54, the Chapel Hill North shopping center off Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, and the Rams Plaza shopping center off Fordham Boulevard.
As with all Orange County ABC stores, the Southern Village location will operate Mondays through Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
