According to their social media, He’s Not Here plans to reopen to the public today as the “Home of the Blue Cup and Bottle Shop.”

The self-described “collegial haunt,” located on Franklin Street, will now be serving a selection of beer and cider 6-packs to-go.

After being closed for months since Governor Cooper’s initial executive order on March 17, He’s Not Here will be able to reopen by becoming a “retail beverage venue.”

According to section 1d of Cooper’s executive order, “bars are defined as establishments that are not restaurants and that have a permit to sell alcoholic beverages for onsite consumption. This Order does not direct the closure of retail beverage venues that currently provide for the sale of beer, wine, and liquor for off-site consumption only. It also does not require the closure of production operations at breweries, wineries, or distilleries.”

We will be reopening today at 5pm, closing at 10. Things are a little different than the last time you were here. We are now the “Home of the Blue Cup and Bottle Shop”. We have a good selection of beer and cider 6-packs to-go, and our selection will continue to expand as we move forward. We will be abiding fully to all state and county health guidelines. Our staff will be in masks and gloves at all times. We will be operating at less than 20% of our total facility’s capacity, and there will be no indoor seating for the foreseeable. All tables and benches in the courtyard have been moved to provide safe, socially distanced, spaces for customers. We are going to do everything we can to provide a safe and enjoyable experience. Masks will be required for entry and movement within the property, so WEAR A MASK! We look forward to seeing you, whenever that is. Go Heels!
