The 2017-2018 North Carolina Arts Council Artist Fellowship Award has been awarded to 19 artists living in North Carolina.

The winning artists receive a $10,000 fellowship to support creative development and the creation of new work.

The Artist Fellowship Program operates on a two-year rotating cycle by discipline. This cycle’s disciplines were literature, musical composition and songwriting, and the next cycle will be visual film, video and craft artists.

Among the winning artists in this cycle were Lee Weisart and Wes Collins of Chapel Hill, Eric Smith of Carrboro and Elisabeth Lewis Corley of Pittsboro.

The deadline to apply for the next cycle’s fellowship is November 1.
