New tours for the Eno Arts Mill in Hillsborough are available to artists looking to rent studio space.

The historic mill near the Eno River, which the Orange County Arts Commission is renting space in, is being remodeled by its ownership group into a space for local artists. Studio space, exhibit display areas and a classroom area will soon be available for renting.

Before that, however, the mill needs tenants. After holding a first wave of tours in early December and taking artists’ feedback about what additions the arts area needed, the arts commission announced additional tours for potential renting artists.

According to a release from the Orange County Arts Commission, the Eno Arts Mill added many small and lockable studios, as well as a new ventilation system. It also says carpet was removed based on comments from the previous tours.

Like before, interested artists must register for one of the three tours. The arts commission reminded community members in the release the tours are strictly meant for potential renters, saying that general tours to the public will be available once artists move in.

Applications for studio space in the Eno Arts Mill will reopen on Monday, February 3 and close Monday, February 17. The forms will be available on the arts commission’s website for the mill.
