Orange County Division Chief of Emergency Management Sarah Pickard and Orange County Emergency Management Planner Hanna Tuckman spoke with 97.9 The Hill’s Andrew Stuckey on Monday, June 24. They discussed the current heat spell, and what residents should be doing to keep themselves safe. They also discussed the larger, long-range planning for sustained heat seasons going forward, and how this is part of a cycle of more extreme weather events that will constitute the need for emergency management. They also discussed what resources are available from the county to help keep people safe during extreme heat events.
