Chapel Hill Mayor Jess Anderson joins 97.9 The Hill News Director Brighton McConnell on Thursday, June 6. She brings highlights from the prior night’s town council meeting, where the local government finalized and approved its annual budget for the next year. Anderson discusses why this year was a little smoother than years prior and why the town is slightly raising taxes once again. With a concept plan presentation for a residential neighborhood and a recent groundbreaking for an affordable housing community, the mayor also talks about the current housing approaches the town is taking and why the areas for both of those projects are intriguing for Chapel Hill’s future management of growth. Plus: free parking on Saturdays returns for the summer and Anderson shares her experience at the town’s recent Pride Promenade!
