Event Details
LEVEL presents a live performance by Craig Colorusso, a contemporary artist whose immersive installations, sound sculptures, and bowed guitar performances blur the boundaries between art, environment, and experience.
Craig will perform his composition “Mr. Blue and His Tongue”, an extended and semi-improvised piece for droning electric guitar and bass clarinet. Witness a tranquil and slowly evolving experience, perfectly suited for the unique, sylvan setting of UNC’s Forest Theatre. This FREE and all ages event is made possible by a generous artist grant from the Orange County Arts Commission. Rain date: Friday, April 25th.
In addition, don’t miss Craig’s “Meditation with Sun Boxes”, on display at NC State from April 8-28th, as an extension of the “Your Brain on Art” exhibition curated by the Gregg Museum of Art & Design. This self-guided outdoor art experience invites participants to connect with public spaces in a new way through meditation and exploration, featuring 20 solar-powered speakers, each playing a distinct guitar note that converges to create the harmonious Bb6 chord. The soothing sounds form a perfect backdrop for mindfulness, encouraging wandering, pauses and reflection.
