The UNC men’s golf team is the No. 2 seed in the NCAA Bryan Regional, which was announced Wednesday. The regional will be contested May 18-20 at Texas A&M University’s Traditions Club in Bryan, TX.
This is the 33rd time overall and 11th in a row in which the Tar Heels, currently ranked No. 9 in the country, have earned a spot in an NCAA Regional. Rounding out the top five of the Bryan Regional are No. 1 seed Texas, No. 3 Tennessee, No. 4 New Mexico and No. 5 Texas A&M, the regional hosts.
The top five teams after 54 holes (three rounds) of stroke play in the regional will then advance to the NCAA Championship in California, which begins May 29. There are six regionals in total across the country. The Tar Heels have advanced to the NCAA Championship in seven out of their last eight regional appearances, though they failed to do so in 2025.
Both the men’s and women’s golf teams are No. 2 seeds in their respective regionals, and the women’s team is also a regional host at Chapel Hill’s Finley Golf Club. That regional competition begins Monday, May 11.
