After scoring 30 points in a win against Louisville and 20 in a win against Virginia Tech, UNC senior guard Seth Trimble was named the ACC Player of the Week Monday.
In addition to averaging 25 points per game, Trimble averaged four assists and three rebounds across the two contests. His 30 points against the Cardinals were a career high and marked the first 30-point game by a Tar Heel this season. Trimble shot 11-16 from the floor and made a three-pointer for the first time since his game-winner against Duke.
Trimble followed that performance up with a 20-point game against the Hokies Saturday. It’s the second time in Trimble’s career he has scored 20 or more points in consecutive games. He was once again efficient, shooting 7-12 from the field. When including Trimble’s second half at Syracuse Feb. 21, Trimble has scored 63 points across his last five halves of basketball.
Trimble is the second Tar Heel to earn ACC Player of the Week honors this season, joining freshman Caleb Wilson. It’s the first time in his career Trimble has been named ACC Player of the Week.
Trimble and the rest of the Tar Heels will be back in action when they host Clemson Tuesday night at 7 p.m. It will be Senior Night for Trimble, who is playing his final collegiate home game.
